autodoc.co.uk I've just replaced the air filter and inside where this little tube goes 1:37 , there was a kind of sponge soaked with oil.
I didn't have anything like it so I put a little paper towel. Did I do the right thing ?
Thank you for the feedback! This is not completely right, as the paper will get soaked as the time goes by and will block this channel, which will influence the operation of the engine. We recommend that you take off the paper and put a new sponge on.
Pls make a video on how change trabsmission oil

i found a little "tank"in the air filter housing that looks like an oil pipe goes into for the 2006 Ford fiesta 1.4i? It looks like there used to be some sort of sponge in there? I cant tell cause these were broken down pieces of sponge covered in oil?
Can I just pop in a piece of sponge from a normal kitchen scour sponge?
Thank you for your comment!
We do not recommend it since this sponge serves as a separator mechanism for cleaning crankcase gases from oil.
Since the crankcase gases are quite hot, the sponge must be stable, otherwise, it can melt and clog the exhaust pipe.
Best Regards,
Autodoc team.
Could I also request the same process done on an Ecosport? Thank you so much!

Hey there! On the 1:36 minute, what is the purpose of this hose? I clearly see that is coming from the engine block but is it related to the PCV mechanism? By the way, I love your tutorials!
Thank you for your feedback! This hose is for сrankcase gases ventilation. Best regards, Autodoc.
@@autodocuk Is it necessary to install a sponge right after the hose entry inside the airbox? I have a Fiesta V hatchback from 2002, or Fiesta Mk6, and there isn't such a thing inside the box. For example, I think the Focus airbox is equipped with such a sponge. So my question: Should I put one inside or leave it that way?
Best regards!
Engineering at it’s worse. Should have designed it to come out the top with a couple fasteners.
Mate, you need to clean that engine. Looks like you found your car in a barn.
